OUR STORY

Most people know that a huge percentage of start-up companies fail.  Cruz Gonzales knew it.  Way back in 1991, yes, he knew that the odds were against him. But he also knew that he understood the temporary employment industry – he’d been managing temporary employees for a large company for many years.  He knew that he had the business acumen; he knew that his people skills were astute, arising from both compassion and wise discernment; and he knew that investing $5,000 from his savings, 60-hours of his time each week, and all of his natural confidence and skill would very likely, despite the odds, mean success.

And he was right.

We have clients and vendors who’ve been doing business with us for decades.   And it’s the same with our staff—several of our employees have been with us for over 20 years.

In the temporary employment industry, companies come and go.  They fail. They get another loan and do business under another name.

WHO WE ARE

 

Cecilia Gonzales, President.  A mere two months after her father founded the company, Cecilia, at 20, began doing all kinds of administrative work for GLS—accounting, payroll, office management . . . through the years she moved into marketing, customer- and employee relations, finance, and all the legal and government issues that come with doing business in this field.  Cecilia shares her father’s business acumen and people skills.  And her natural gift for wise leadership and a quick-witted optimism filter throughout the organization, making it a place where staff members like their jobs and clients trust and enjoy their partnership.

Ask Cecilia anything about manufacturing and industrial companies in DFW. With almost 30 years of experience in meeting the staffing needs of those industries, she’ll know the answer.  Providing staff for businesses means understanding their business!  Cecilia estimates that she’d recognize 80% of her clients if she saw them on the street.  That’s because many have been with GLS long-term and because Cecilia is often out there meeting and bringing them onboard as satisfied clients.

Top among Cecilia’s values are compassion, honesty, and responsibility.  She makes sure that clients are 100% satisfied by providing top quality temporary and temp-to-permanent employees.  She places people seeking work in jobs that they are qualified to do, that they are motivated to perform well, and that the environment is a healthy one for them.

“My dad and mom taught me about the human spirit,” Cecilia said recently.  “Their whole lives are about communicating with people, really hearing them.  They were the best example to me of treating people right, doing the right thing in business, and in all aspects of life.”

 

Gayla Turley, Vice President, Finance.  Gayla brings to GLS Inc. 15 years of experience in accounting and payroll, customer service, purchasing, inventory, software implementation, and more.  Her work ethic is unsurpassed. She’s quick and efficient and amazingly focused on anticipating the needs of clients and staff.  Gayla makes sure that finances line up accurately so that customer service at GLS can remain the best in this business.

She enjoys her work because of the value that GLS brings to the community.  “Not only do we provide jobs for people who need them,” Gayla said, “but we also provide an absolutely vital service for our clients.  I like making those connections, and I like it that the economy depends on what we provide.  That’s just a good feeling.”
